about

Together with Michael Gustorff on the violin and Hans Sparla on the accordion Dick presents a program of jazz-meets-tango including old and famous milongas and tangos by Piazzolla and three original compositions by himself.
With her impressive voice, Sandra Coelers sings lyrics by poets Horacio Ferrer and Jorge Luis Borges that were originally set to music by Piazzolla and had been rearranged for Trio Nuevo by Dick de Graaf and Hans Sparla.

Press:
…creating a new social climate for endangered musical species jazz and tango … this “four-headed’ trio causes a small-scale revolution … Brabants Dagblad – Rinus van der Heijden
…a special musical magic that perfectly blends jazz, world music, and South American motifs into an intoxicating brew that is enjoyable listening at any time. The musicians soar as they perform in top-notch fashion, and each song is a memorable musical expression. No other group could do this in just such a fine manner as Trio Nuevo. Listen to "Milonga de Jacinto Chiclana" and you will find yourself swept up in its intricate sounds and powerful motifs – Jazzreview (USA) – Lee Prosser
